About me
I began learning the piano at an early age and music soon became my main focus. I received a traditional musical education, working through the Associated Board graded examinations by my early teens. Alongside these studies I began playing in bands, developing practical musicianship through real performance experience — initially in church worship groups, then school bands, and later performing professionally in cover bands. This combination of structured study and practical playing continues to shape my approach to teaching.

My formal musical education continued when I gained a place at Trinity College of Music, London, to study classical performance. During this time I studied piano with the internationally acclaimed pianist John Bingham and harpsichord with early music specialist John Henry. Alongside my classical studies I also developed my work as a bass guitarist, undertaking private study with Paul Westwood, bass guitar tutor at the Royal Academy of Music, where I studied advanced harmony, technique and contemporary performance styles.

After graduating with a BMus (TCM) and receiving an award for outstanding supporting studies, I began a varied professional career in music. My work has included extensive performing in many different settings, including cruise ships, musical theatre productions and touring engagements. I have also performed classically as both a soloist and accompanist, and have worked in music production and composition. Alongside my performing career I have taught piano for many years, drawing on both my classical training and professional experience to help students develop strong technique, musical understanding and confidence at the instrument.
